Paralegal/ Legal Assistant – Training Available in Montgomery, AL
I would like to apply for this because even though I have taken the classes needed for this particular job training is still available. Paralegal studies require a good amount of research and knowledge about case law with training it makes things easier. The instructors within this field said that things become easier with the more practice an individual has. The other reason I would apply for this job is simply because of the location. It keeps me closer to my family for right now. I could learn more by going through training. It seems like a place where I would be able grow and expand for some years. Then maybe later I will be able to work for a more complex firm or corporation if I choose to do so.
The other thing I can appreciate about this job is that the pay depends on your abilities. There is room for a person to start a certain level and increase over time. When I fill out the resume, I am going to list all of my schooling history up to now. I will also be sure to mention all the groups and organization I have been in throughout my college history. I think it would also be very important for me to mention my grade point average from my previous college and other accomplishments that I made along the way regarding my studies.
My major is Paralegal Studies. I am currently a senior. I have taken 15 hours of paralegal class. These classes are Civil Litigation, Legal Research, Legal Drafting, Title Searching and Equity. The civil litigation class it was provides individuals with procedure that are carried out as a paralegal. As for the Legal Research, it was an introduction to the research itself. We learn the seven steps to begin to do the research a topic. For the legal research class we used a research method that would be carried out in seven steps. These steps are very important to finding case law that is either good or bad. The legal drafting class introduces you into producing documents such as notice of motion, motion to dismiss, answer, complaint, and briefs. The title searching class requires that you go to the courthouse and research the title to someone property. This would tell the people about the property they purchased if there was any easement, leans or unpaid taxes. This class also requires students to do Hud 1 and a Good Faith Estimate. The equity class contained two part family law, wills, and estate law. The first was family law in which we learned the twelve fault grounds for divorce, the five most common and under what circumstance was considered in the eyes of the law. We learned the five things that a married couple must decide upon in order to get a divorce. We learned about the twelve Albright factors that play a major role in deciding which parent gets to keep the child. As for the second part of equity, we learned the different. As for the second part of equity we learned the different types of wills. This class also provides students with an overall scope on who gets what after the person is no longer living and did not leave a will for the family with their belongs. For this particular class we had to create a divorce settlement and will. My overall view with classes in paralegal studies has been informal. The teachers are very helpful in supplying us the material to help us complete the assignments. If you need additional help, they are available and willing to help student one on one.
